First cleanroom classification: Turbulent flow air cleanroom system
In this cleanroom system, the air will enter from the air-conditioning box through the air duct and the HEPA air filter. And finally return to the cleanroom, because the partition wall panels on both sides of the clean room. The characteristic is non-linearly move and irregular turbulence or vortex state.
The structure is simple, and the system construction is low cost. It’s easy to expand the cleanroom in the future if there is some change. And in some special-purpose situations, workers can use the workbench together, which will increase the cleanroom level.
It’s not easy to discharge the fine dust from the turbulence float in the indoor space. Therefore, it is easy to pollute the finished products. In addition, it often takes a long time to achieve the required cleanliness after the system stopped and restart.
Second cleanroom classification: Laminar flow air cleanroom system
In this system, the laminar air flows into a uniform linear shape. The air enters the room through a filter with a coverage rate of 100% and returns to the air from the raised floor. This type is suitable for use in environments with high clean room level requirements. Generally, the clean room level is 1-100.
There are two types:
(1) Horizontal laminar flow:
The filter blows out the air in one direction, and transfers the air with the system on the opposite wall. So the air will go outside in the wind direction, the pollution is generally serious on the downstream side.
The structure is simple and stable in a short time after the operation.
This airflow system will cost higher than the turbulent flow type, and it is not easy to expand the indoor space.
(2) Vertical laminar flow type:
The air cleanliness will be higher if the ULPA filters cover the cleanroom ceiling because the air goes from top to bottom. And the dust from the process or the staff can go outside easily without affecting other work areas.
It’s easy to manage, and the cleanroom system will come into a stable state after a short period from the start of the operation. On the other hand, the operating status does not affect it.
This kind of airflow costs higher, and the flexible use of space is difficult. In addition, the ceiling hanger takes up a lot of space, and it is troublesome to maintain and replace the filter.
Third cleanroom classification: Mixed Type flow type:
This type is a combination or combination of turbulent flow and laminar flow. And it can provide local ultra-clean air.
100% coverage of the process area or working area with HEPA or ULPA filters increases the cleanliness level to above 10, which can save the installation and operation costs.
This type needs to isolate the operator’s work area from the product and machine maintenance to avoid affecting the work and quality during machine maintenance. And the ULSI manufacturing processes use this type mostly.
